RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - In an interview with French newspaper Les Echos, the founders of BioNTech, the company behind one of the most widely used vaccines in the fight against Covid-19, argued that people who are not immunized with a vaccine are likely to become infected, including with a virus that could become increasingly more contagious.
The coronavirus "is here to stay and will become increasingly resistant," say BioNTech's Ugur Sahin and Özlem Türeci, who also confirmed that they have a tested process for producing a new vaccine within 100 days, if necessary.
