International Friendship Bridge Reopened After Protest in Paraguay

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - A protest in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, blocked traffic on the International Friendship Bridge, on the border with Foz do Iguaçu, in western Paraná, between 11 AM and 4 PM on Wednesday, June 12th.

According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), vehicles were prevented from entering or leaving the country through the bridge. Only pedestrians were allowed to cross the border.

Demonstrators gathered in the center of Ciudad del Este since early morning. Some stores and malls failed to open on Wednesday.
