Brazil Records 17,000 Cases of Violence Against the Homeless in Three Years

The main type of violence suffered by this group is physical abuse (beatings, stonings, and burning while sleeping), followed by psychological and moral abuse, sexual harassment, and torture.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Ministry of Health recorded 17,386 cases of violence between 2015 and 2017, in which the primary motivation was the victim's homeless condition.
