Number of Brazil stock market investors up 43% in 2 years, nears 4 million

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Data released by B3 on Wednesday, August 11, show that 3.8 million accounts were registered on the exchange in June 2021, compared to 2.2 million in 2019 - an increase of 43%. The survey was based on the exchange's database.

When considering only the number of registered individuals, the exchange counts 3.2 million investors in the first half of the year, compared to 2.2 million in the same period last year. This figure excludes institutional investors and unifies duplicate registrations of individual investors who have accounts in more than one brokerage house . . .
