Navigation in Brazil’s waterways limited in September; may be suspended due to water crisis

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - "The atypical scenario with the draft level of rivers below historical averages in the region and considering projections, we believe that the most likely scenario is one of no navigation in October," logistic and transportation services company Hidrovias do Brasil reports in a statement.

The company also reported on Friday, October 1, that it received a notice from Mineração Corumbaense Reunida, a Vale International subsidiary, advising that it will request 8 trains for service in 2022.

The request was sent to Girocantex, a Hidrovias do Brasil subsidiary, under the terms of the river transport contract . . .
