El Salvador extends emergency regime until December

The Legislative Assembly of El Salvador today granted a new extension to the emergency regime requested by the government of President Nayib Bukele to combat organized crime.

According to the legislative agreement, the ninth extension to this temporary suspension of constitutional rights will now be extended until December 17.

On Tuesday night, the decree received 67 votes in favor, nine against, and six deputies abstained from voting.
