Rio de Janeiro state had Brazil’s most affected labor market by the pandemic

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The state of Rio de Janeiro was the most impacted in the item occupation in the labor market in the first year of the pandemic.

According to the Center for Social Policies of the Getulio Vargas Foundation's (FGV Social/CPS) study, employment dropped 14.28% between the fourth quarter of 2019 and the same period in 2020.

In the last three months of 2019 it stood at 44.2% and in the fourth quarter of 2020 at 37.89%.
