(Opinion) I'll start with some excellent news that fills me with pride as 'Cachoeirense': an olive oil brand from Cachoeira do Sul (RS), is in first place among the 120 best olive oils in the southern hemisphere in a competition in Italy.
The winners will appear in the Lodo guide of olive oils.
Brazil still produces very little: about 3,500 tonnes of olive oil; we import 106,000 tonnes.
There are producers in Rio Grande do Sul, in towns such as Pinheiro Machado, Rosário do Sul, Viamão, Canguçu, and Caçapava do . . .
