Opinion: Brazil’s export tax on oil destroys the population’s wealth

(Opinion) Brazil insists on wrong policies to destroy the national competitiveness and Brazilian oil's social and economic potential.

Monteiro Lobato already criticized the "don't drill and don't let it be drilled".

After releasing The Oil Scandal, almost a century ago, he disagreed with GetĂșlio Vargas.

As a result, the book was censored.

Sometime later, Monteiro wrote a letter to the dictator, defending the existence of oil in Brazil and the importance of allowing investments to come in, but he ended up in jail.
