Opinion: Dallagnol’s impeachment could be the last straw for Congress to react

By Alexandre Garcia*

(Opinion) What an irony! Unemployment rose more in states where Lula won.

It went up most in Bahia and also in Amapá and Pernambuco.

Santa Catarina, Rondônia, and Minas Gerais have the best employment situations.

In Minas, we know that Lula won – narrowly, but he won, and they even say it was decisive for the election.

After Justice Benedito Gonçalves voted against Deltan Dallagnol, it took a minute for the others to vote with him (Photo internet reproduction)

Speaking of Minas, we are now waiting for the manifestation of the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, after Senator Hamilton Mourão‘s libel on the tribune.

He, a senator for Rio Grande do Sul, left the final word with Pacheco, the representative of Minas Gerais, to answer these aggressions against the prerogatives of the legislative branch, against democracy, against fundamental freedoms.

According to Mourão, these aggressions are hurting democracy and culminated with the removal from office of Congressman Deltan Dallagnol.

The president of the House of Representatives himself has already spoken out, saying that it is the House that will revoke his mandate, that he will hear from the Chief of Staff of the House, and that the deputy has five days to defend himself.

It was an incredible thing, a trial that took a minute to vote, based on facts that could still happen in the future; it is like in Minority Report – The New Law, Spielberg’s movie starring Tom Cruise.

They would find out that the guy might commit a crime in the future, so they would solve it before that so he wouldn’t commit it.

There were proceedings against Dallagnol and many complaints against him, but no administrative disciplinary proceedings were open.

The former Justice of the STF, Marco Aurélio Mello, said he is perplexed and has never seen such a thing.

It is not justice; it is “justicing”; what is going on?

There was no justification; however, they revoked Dallagnol’s registration after the fact.

I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ELSE

The Regional Electoral Court of Paraná confirmed the registration in the same lawsuit filed by the PT, the PCdoB, and the PV.

The Public Ministry said that there was nothing against Deltan that would prevent the registration.

He was registered, spent money on the campaign, 345,000 voters placed their representation in Dallagnol’s hands, and now they are left in the lurch?

But this is just a drop. I don’t know if it is the drop that will overflow the chalice or not, but it is just one more drop.

Justice Nunes Marques makes this very clear in his vote in that first vote, on the first batch of 100 January 8 indictments, saying that:

First, the Supreme Court is not the appropriate court.

Second, Alexandre de Moraes is not the natural judge for this

Third, there is not the slightest just cause regarding evidence against the people involved.

And fourth, there is no individualization of each person’s conduct.

It is entirely outside the square of due process of law, which is very worrying.

Transparency International has spoken out in defense of Deltan, and congress members have also spoken out.

In short, this happened to perhaps overflow the chalice.

Meanwhile, many are concerned about the future of former judge and senator Sergio Moro because there seems to be a motivation for revenge.

The Minister of Justice himself has even said, I don’t know if he is joking or not, that he was part of the Avengers.

This is what we are living.
