Opinion: corruption, the instrument to reach and maintain power in Ibero-America

(Opinion) The main symptom to notice how corruption has ceased to be a social scourge to become part of the normality in a society is in the language, the way, people talk about corruption.

Wherever invented words and jokes are used regarding the use of public money or public positions, we will have a society ready to install a regime that makes corruption its tool.

And nobody will be bothered.

In Colombia, " mermelada " refers to the crime of receiving bribes in exchange for political favors.

In the rest of Latin America, "mordida", "mascada", "mojar la mano . . .
