Elon Musk takes control of Twitter and promises investors that “everything will change”

The billionaire entrepreneur begins preparations for the acquisition of the social network Twitter, which is expected to take effect on Friday.

The billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, purchased Twitter official, visiting the company’s offices in California on Wednesday to get a glimpse of the future company he will head.

Musk spoke to several employees and explained the future of the company.

In the past, he had said he wanted to eliminate remote work (a pillar of Twitter’s human resources department, according to the current CEO), change the work culture, and move toward a more technical and less politicized profile.

He clarified this in a letter he published on Twitter, explaining why he bought the social network and asking investors not to give up their trust in the company.

His ideas include eliminating bot accounts, monetizing large users for their content, as YouTube or TikTok do, and creating a paid version of the social network with new features such as editing posts and uploading longer videos.

“I wanted to come forward personally to share my motivation for acquiring Twitter,” Musk began.

“There has been a lot of speculation about why I bought Twitter and what I think about advertising, but most of it is wrong.”

“The reason I acquired Twitter is that I believe it is important for the future of civilization to have a shared digital public space where a wide range of beliefs can be discussed healthily without resorting to violence,” the entrepreneur wrote.

“There is currently a great danger that social media will be divided into closed chambers of the far right and the far left, leading to more hate and dividing our society,” he stressed.

Musk went on to say that “much of the traditional media” has “fed and catered to these polarizing extremes” in search of clicks “because they think there’s money to be made,” adding that as a result, “the opportunity for dialogue is lost.”

Muck explained, “Twitter obviously cannot become a hell of all against all, where you can say anything without consequences.”

And that “in addition to respecting the laws of the land, the platform should be warm and welcoming to everyone, where you can choose the experience you want according to your preferences, just as you can choose to watch movies or play video games, for example, from any age to maturity.

On the topic of advertising, which is most important to investors because companies that stop politically censoring their users generally lose the support of firms that put money into advertising, Musk said he “firmly believes that advertising, when done right, can delight, entertain and inform.

It can show you a service, product, or medical treatment that you didn’t know existed “but is right for you.”

However, he stressed that it is “essential” to show Twitter users ads that are “as relevant as possible to their needs” and that ads that are not relevant are “spam.”

“Fundamentally, Twitter strives to be the world’s most respected advertising platform that strengthens your brand and grows your business,” Musk said.

“I thank everyone who has worked with us. Let’s build something extraordinary together,” he concluded.

Despite Elon Musk’s assurances that there will be no mass layoffs in the short term, as he prefers to guarantee the service while he works on the reforms he has in mind, several Twitter employees have spoken out against their next boss.

One Twitter engineer, Stephanie Guevara, tweeted, “Hi @elonmusk, thanks for stopping by @TwitterSF. Hope you enjoyed your coffee at The Perch! Just one question: was it fun looking at the faces of the people you’re dismissing?”.

As reported by The Post Millenial and hidden camera videos published by Project Veritas, a group of Twitter employees are preparing a “coup” for the arrival of Elon Musk by deleting sensitive information and hiding the algorithms they use to censor accounts so they can do so secretly when the Tesla CEO takes over.

According to other reports, Elon Musk knows about it and plans to lay off 75% of the California-based company’s employees.

Therefore, he has asked the HR department of his other companies to look for employees whose profiles match his new vision for Twitter.

On Thursday evening, CNBC reported that Elon Musk had ordered the dismissal of several company executives, including CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and Chief Legal Officer Vijaya Gadde, responsible for the company’s censorship policy.

According to Washington Post journalists, they were seen leaving the San Francisco offices surrounded by their lawyers, although their workday was not over.

The same newspaper reports that Elon Musk will return to the offices tomorrow, Friday, and will hold an official meeting with employees, during which he will introduce the company’s new directors.
