Retrofit: old buildings in downtown São Paulo are revitalized

Anyone who walks along Rua Amaral Gurgel on weekends, in the central region of São Paulo, will notice intense movement around number 344, close to the corner with Rua General Jardim.

People walk in and out of the Gato Sem Rabo bookstore, which specializes in books written by women; they eat and drink at the neighboring pizzeria, Divina Encrenca; and go up the stairs towards the HOA contemporary art gallery or the Cora restaurant, on the roof overlooking the Minhocão.
