Tokyo 2020: Brazilian pentathlete falls from horse, finishes last after skipping final event

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazilian Leda Guimarães crashed in the equestrian discipline of the modern pentathlon at the Tokyo Olympics on Friday. She did not participate in the last race of the competition, running and shooting, and finished 36th and last.

The Olympic champion was British Kate French, who set a new Olympic record with 1,385 points. She had won bronze in this discipline at the 2019 World Championships in Budapest.

Silver went to Lithuania's Laura Asadauskaite, who scored 1,370 points. Bronze went to Hungary's Sarolta Kovacs with 1,368 points.
