Peru remains without flights from Brazil for the rest of August

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Peruvian health authorities believe that the risk of the introduction of new COVID-19 variants from Brazil remains. For this reason, the government of Pedro Castillo has decided to delay arrivals of flights from the neighboring country for at least 15 more days.

Officials say that at least 76 positive cases of COVID-19 of the Delta variant have already been detected in Peru in the past week, despite numerous restrictions on international flights, such as those from Brazil, India, and South Africa.
