Judge orders 48 more hours of preventive detention for former Peruvian president

Judge Juan Carlos Checkley, of the Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation of Peru, ordered this Wednesday (14) that the former president Pedro Castillo be kept in pre-trial detention for another 48 hours.

During this period, a hearing will be held to review the request for 18 months of preventive detention presented by the Public Ministry against the recently removed head of state.
