Unemployment in Mexico dropped to 3.9 % in March

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Mexico's unemployment rate stood at 3.9 % of the economically active population (EAP) in March 2021, down from 4.4 % in February. Still, up from 2.9 % in March 2020, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) reported Thursday.

"The unemployed population in March 2021 was estimated at 2.2 million people, 493,000 more than in March 2020; the national open unemployment rate stood at 3.9 %, the lowest in three months," Inegi president Julio A. Santaella indicated.
