Havana Airport Reopens, Enabling Foreign Tourists to Reach Cuba

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Jose Marti Airport in Havana, the largest and busiest airport in Cuba, has resumed commercial and charter air operations after closing on March 24th due to the pandemic.

More than 25 international airlines use the airport and it is home to Cuba´s own regional airlines.

American travelers can visit Cuba under 12 specific categories of travel, including Support for the Cuban People, but are barred from strictly tourist vacations to the all-inclusive island beach resorts off the northeast coast.

And other hurdles remain. Commercial and charter aircraft from the U.S. are not permitted . . .
