2022 ends and with it a very troubled year in Ecuador.
In December, the Government of Guillermo Lasso broke the historical record for drug seizures. The fight against drug trafficking has brought the country the bittersweet taste of triumph, along with the pain of revenge by organized crime. As a consequence of this fight, the country has experienced one of the worst waves of crime that the region can remember in recent years.
