RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Nine people, one woman, and eight men, were killed Monday on a private farm in a rural area of the Colombian department of Huila (south) by unidentified armed persons, local authorities reported.
“Nine people have died with firearms in the rural area known as El Quebradón Alto,” which is part of the municipality of Algeciras, Huila Government Secretary Franky Alexánder Vega said in a video.
The killing occurred in a coffee plantation and among the victims, there are coffee pickers, the farm administrator, and a woman who was working in the kitchen.
