Strong 6.2 earthquake hits northern Argentina on Monday morning (September 13)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - A strong earthquake hit the San Antonio de los Cobres region in northern Argentina in the early morning hours of Monday (13). The tremor was also felt in northern Chile.

According to the United States Geological Survey (UGS), the quake reached magnitude 6.2, while the European Seismological Center of the Mediterranean recorded an earthquake of 6.0.
