Argentina’s government has enabled land border transit to Bolivia

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – This Thursday, the Argentine Government published in the Official Gazette Provision 2685/2021, which enables the border transit between the city of La Quiaca in Jujuy and Villazón, a Bolivian city.

Likewise, Administrative Decision 969/2021 was published, which puts the corresponding sanitary protocol for the neighboring transit through the international transit from La Quiaca to Villazón and vice versa.

In charge of the General Direction of Migratory Movement, Legal Operative Direction (of Migration), General Direction of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, the overland passage in the north of Argentina to the neighboring country is approved.

The protocol was prepared by the National Ministry of Health and is responsible for the National Direction of Migration, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition, the text states that the Bolivian Government was in agreement with the present measures.

Signed by Florencia Carignano, National Director of Migration, the provision enters into force. At the same time, the protocol was approved by Carla Vizzotti, head of the Ministry of Health; Eduardo de Pedro of the Ministry of the Interior and the Chief of Cabinet Juan Manzur.
