Mexico’s AMLO considers suspending the Pacific Alliance summit

The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), has pointed to the possibility of suspending the Pacific Alliance summit - scheduled for November 23-25 ​​in Mexico City - due to the absence of his Peruvian counterpart, the leftist Pedro Castillo.

The Peruvian Congress denied President Castillo's request to leave the country to travel to Mexico on the occasion of the Pacific Alliance summit last Friday, although he was authorized to travel to Chile.
