According to the report Guest Movement in Cape Verde in 2022, with tourism statistics produced by INE, the number of guests last year surpassed the previous record, 819,308 tourists in 2019, before the covid-19 pandemic.
Still, it grew by 394% compared to 169,068 tourists in 2021.
As for overnight stays, the record remains registered in 2019, with 5,117,403, and the 4,088,412 overnight stays of 2022 is an increase of 387% compared to 2021 but still below that of 2016 (4,092,551 overnight stays).
