São Paulo governor announces 11 new field hospitals and 140 additional ICU beds

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - São Paulo governor João Doria announced on Monday, March 8th, 11 new field hospital structures totaling 280 additional beds for covid-19 patients in the state. There will be 140 ICU and 140 ward beds. According to the State Health Secretary Jean Carlo Gorinchteyn, the structures will operate next to existing hospital facilities - and not in improvised locations.

The facilities will include the Specialty Medical Outpatient Clinics (AMEs) of Santo André, Andradina, Santos, Barretos, Botucatu, Campinas, Ourinhos, Tupã, Itapetininga, as well as the Lucy Montoro Hospitals, in Fernandópolis, and São José, in . . .
