Mexico reports 50 new deaths from Covid-19, the lowest figure since 2020 (May 22)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Mexican government recorded 50 new deaths from Covid-19 on May 22, the lowest figure since April 2020, to total 221,647 deaths, the Ministry of Health (SSa) reported Sunday.

In the daily technical report, the SSa also registered 1,274 infections, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 2,396,604, the Health Ministry reported on Saturday.

With these data, Mexico ranks as the country in the world with the fourth-most deaths, behind the United States, Brazil, and India, and fifteenth in number of confirmed infections, according to the Johns Hopkins University count . . .
