Ecuador’s Emergency Committee recommends “state of exception” by zones

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The National Emergency Operations Committee (COE-N) recommended on Thursday, April 1, to the president of Ecuador, Lenín Moreno, to declare a "state of exception" in a focused way to face the growing wave of coronavirus infections in the country.

"We recommend to the president to declare a state of exception for 30 days," said Juan Zapata, director of the COE-N, after a meeting of that body to analyze the serious situation in the country.
