Brazilian government announces extension of pandemic emergency aid for another three months

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The government announced on Monday (5), the extension of the payment of pandemic emergency aid for another three months. The benefit, which would have ended in July, will be paid through October. The decree that provides for the extension has already been signed by President Jair Bolsonaro.

The government must send to Congress a provisional measure opening extraordinary credit in favor of the Ministry of Citizenship to make the transfers. According to the family size, the amounts of the new installments should remain the same, between R$150 (US$29) and R$375 per month.
