Brazil records 42,159 new cases and 1,056 Covid deaths (August 6)

According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks fifth in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Paraguay, Colombia, Cuba, and Argentina.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil on Friday reported 1,056 new deaths as a result of Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 561,762, the Health Ministry said.

There were also 42,159 new cases of coronavirus reported, bringing the total of confirmed infections in the country to 20,108,746. The federal government reports 18,868,602 people recovered from Covid-19 and 678,382 patients in follow-up.
