Brazil averages fewer than 2,000 daily deaths for first time in 55 days

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - On Monday, May 10, Brazil registered 2,275 deaths by Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, totaling 425,711 fatalities since the start of the pandemic. This brings the rolling average of deaths over the past 7 days to 1,980, below the 2,000 mark for the first time in 55 days.

Compared to the average of 14 days ago, there was a -17% variation, pointing to a downward trend in deaths from the virus.

The figures are included in the new survey by the media outlet consortium on the situation of the coronavirus . . .
