President of Brazil’s Senate Hospitalized in Brasília with Coronavirus

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Avi Alcolumbre was confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus on Wednesday evening, March 18th, according to his press office, and was admitted to the hospital early Thursday morning.

According to people close to the senator, he began to have difficulty breathing on Wednesday night and was advised by his doctor to visit the hospital for a lung scan. Faced with the result of the examination, he was admitted for observation, without any expected release.
