After cold front and frost, summer heat returns to southern Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - With the surprising arrival of a cold front in mid-summer, polar air penetrated Brazil's South and produced a drop in temperatures, which fluctuated between 5ºC and 10°C at dawn in many cities. The higher elevations of the Serrana Region of Santa Catarina even recorded frost last Sunday.

However, the week that began cold and dry, will tend to end more humid and hot. The dry and cold air will lose momentum over the next few days, and conditions for frost at dawn are no longer present as temperatures increase.
