Iran expects better relationship with Lula da Silva, says ambassador

Iran's ambassador to Brazil, Hossein Gharibi, told Poder360 that he expects more intense relations between the country and Brazil under the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

In Brasília since 2020, he claimed to have had good interaction with Chancellor Carlos França and with several ministers. Tereza Cristina went to Iran in February 2022, when she was still in charge of Agriculture. Trade exchanges increased.

But he said advances were limited near potential. He criticized the fact that products from several countries pay less taxes in Brazil than Iranian products . . .
