The receivers of Lojas Americanas informed the court that the company's total debt is approximately R$50 billion (US$9.84 billion), almost R$7 billion (US$1.38 billion) higher than the amount previously reported by the retailer.
The most recent figure for Americanas' debt is in the first statement of accounts filed on Wednesday in the Fourth Business Court of Rio de Janeiro.
