G7 Agrees to Help Brazil Fight Amazon Fires, Says French President Macron

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - French President Emmanuel Macron said on Sunday, August 25th, that the G7, a group of the world's seven largest economies, has agreed to help affected countries, including Brazil, fight the fires in the Amazon "as quickly as possible".

"We all agree to help the countries affected by these fires as quickly as possible," said Macron, according to AFP.

There are still no details on how the G7-countries would help the South American countries. According to the French newspaper Le Monde, the support could include financial aid.
