Opinion: China and Brazil have learned to cooperate on education. That’s a (mostly) good thing

Despite its incredible economic and cultural power, Brazil remains highly understudied and misunderstood on the international stage. Even in Latin America, Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina, which also have immense cultural power, take precedence, despite their low economic and strategic strength in comparison to their Portuguese-speaking neighbour.

(Opinion) China and Brazil have quickly grown from distant to close partners since China’s international ascension under President Hu Jintao starting in 2003. Both countries are part of the BRICS trading block and China is now Brazil’s largest trading partner. China and Brazil cooperate on defense and conduct joint military training on security.
