Brazil sets record in oil royalty revenue in first half 2021 – survey

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil has reached record revenue from royalties and participation in oil and natural gas production in 2021 due to the high dollar and international oil prices.

According to a study by the Brazilian Center for Infrastructure (CBIE), in the first half of this year, the revenue was R$35.2 (US$6.5) billion. A gain of 28.9% compared to the same period last year.

The survey suggests that by the end of 2021, the country will have collected R$37 (US$7) billion more than the revenue obtained in 2020 . . .
