Brazil’s public debt fell in October to lowest level since pre-pandemic

The gross federal government debt (DGBB) fell to 76.8% of GDP in October.

It retreated 0.3 percentage points in relation to September and 5.6 p.p. in relation to the same month in 2021.

The Central Bank released the data on Wednesday.

Public debt fell 3.5 percentage points in 2022, from 80.3% to 76.8% of GDP in the period. According to the BC, in 12 months, it retreated 5.6 percentage points.

The federal government said the rate should be 74% in December 2022.
