Brazil: more than 100,000 say “no” in a Senate poll on penalizing unvaccinated people

Open for public consultation on the Brazilian Senate website, Bill 5.555/20 that wants to punish non-vaccinated people has already received more than 100,000 “no” votes.

The bill is authored by Senator Angelo Coronel (PSD-BA).

The bill intends to change the Penal Code to typify the behaviors of non-submission to experimental vaccination, treated in the bill as "mandatory".

The report also includes the "dissemination of false news about the effectiveness of the vaccine and discouraging adherence to the vaccination program" as punishable crimes.
