CCBB Rio de Janeiro celebrates Composer’s Day with a tribute to Pixinguinha

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The CCBB Educational - Art & Education Program, from Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB), celebrates tomorrow (15) the Composer's Day with a free program for all ages, inspired in Pixinguinha's repertoire.

The singer and composer is considered the main name of Brazilian popular music, and his works influenced the consolidation of chorinho.

According to a survey by the Central Office for Collection and Distribution (Ecad), the most re-recorded Brazilian song in the country is Carinhoso, by Pixinguinha and Braguinha, which surpassed Aquarela do Brasil, by Ary Barroso.
