Over 53,000 individuals homeless in South America’s largest city, São Paulo

In São Paulo, the most populous city in South America, 53,188 individuals live on the streets, as per the Brazilian government's Unified Registry of Social Programs, which was made public by the local media yesterday, Friday.

Official statistics show a 1.8 percent increase in the number of homeless individuals in Brazil's economic heart and principal financial and industrial hub of South America between February and March.
