Arce: The greed of the oligarchy over Bolivia’s natural resources will be overcome with unity

The appetites of the national and international oligarchies over Bolivia’s natural resources will only be overcome with the participation and unity of the people, the social movements, and the Armed Forces (FFAA), reflected this Friday by the President of the South American country, Luis Arce.

In commemoration of the 214th anniversary of the creation of the 1st Regiment of the Bolivian Colored Infantry – Presidential Escort, Arce warned again about the external threats over natural resources such as lithium.

“There are appetites over our natural resources of national and international oligarchies in a context of generalized economic crisis (…) that can only be overcome with the participation of all the Bolivian people, its social organizations, and its Armed Forces”, he said.

President Arce repeatedly denounced in the last months that Bolivian lithium is threatened by external interests and reaffirmed his defense of the sovereign transition that the South American country is facing towards the industrialization of lithium.

Arce ratified his rejection of the intimidation launched by the United States regarding the future of the white metal.

Given this scenario, the President called Bolivians to the need to defend the natural resources threatened internationally and internally by the opposition right wing.

The President is confident that the new generation of the Bolivian military will always be at the side of the people, honoring the discipline, courage, and determination that characterizes them.

During his speech, the Head of State stressed that Bolivia is currently living a different reality from the one it faced during the political crisis in 2019 and the COVID-10 pandemic that reached the country in March 2020 because today it enjoys the recovery of democracy, process of industrialization with import substitution, in a context of profound geopolitical transformations from which it cannot be exempted.
